BYD ATTO 3: when the rear wiper starts in reverse or stops at the tailgate

Featured Replies

If the rear wiper runs as you select reverse, check whether the front wipers are already operating. In the ATTO 3 described here, selecting R with the front wipers running activates the rear wiper automatically.

With the car powered on, the rear wiper and washer are inhibited when the tailgate is open. If the rear wiper was running when you opened it, the manual describes a five-second delay after closing the tailgate before wiping resumes.

When describing unexpected behaviour, note the front wiper setting, whether reverse was selected and whether the tailgate was fully closed. Those three details help distinguish the normal triggers from a fault.
