BYD SEAL 7 DM-i: V2L timer and low battery behaviour

Featured Replies

On the SEAL 7 DM-i equipped for vehicle-to-load (V2L), the discharge countdown appears on the instrument cluster and touchscreen once the compatible connector is attached. The manual points to Energy → Charge/Discharge → Vehicle To Load for the timer. The V2L control can go grey when the adapter is disconnected.

The timer is a maximum session length. Discharge can end earlier if the battery gets too low, and available output can be limited in cold conditions. Check the battery level and the range you need afterwards before planning a session.

The petrol engine can start during V2L at low battery charge. Use this feature outdoors and away from combustible materials. Read the full discharging precautions for your vehicle before connecting equipment.
