BYD HAN EV: why the displayed range changes in Dynamic mode

Featured Replies

The HAN EV can display a different range after two full charges because Dynamic mode estimates distance from the available battery energy and average consumption.

The manual lists two settings under New Energy → Energy Manager → Range display mode. Standard uses the vehicle’s test-cycle figure. Dynamic uses consumption and can adjust the estimate as driving mode, air conditioning and driving habits change. The car remembers the selected mode after a restart.

When comparing two readings, record the display mode, battery percentage and recent energy consumption together. A change in the displayed distance alone tells you how the estimate moved. For trip planning, allow a margin for the conditions you expect on the route.
